MS. HaPTONSTAHL

Ms. Hap is from Galesburg, where she was the first of the ten little Haptonstahls to leave home and go to college somewhere other than Knox or Carl Sandburg. After she received her BS from Illinois State, she taught in Peoria, IL, Phoenix, AZ, Memphis, TN, and Omaha, NE. Missing the friends and family in Illinois, she went back to school at SIU-Carbondale where she got a Master's in Transition Planning. After teaching at Lanphier and Grant, she calls Southeast her home- all three of her children graduated from Southeast and she has been here ten years.
Her passion is movies, but she loves reading, too. It's fun for her to read a novel and then watch the movie of it to see which she likes better. She loves to read newspaper editorials and magazines like Vanity Fair and Newsweek. One of her favorite authors is Willa Cather and enjoys reading her novels including Oh, Pioneers and My Antonia. Every summer she settles down with a good biography, usually of a Hollywood personality.
