Lawrence School of Business
The Lawrence School of Business is an adult education school to work program that provides specific job training for adults who desire employment in an office or business environment. The program is designed to meet the individual needs of each person.
It is designed to train students to work in an office or a business environment. Courses are offered in keyboarding, data entry, basic office skills, and software applications. The program is divided into three levels, and students use computers as a primary source for learning. Employability skills are emphasized throughout the training program.
Lawrence Education Center provides:
* transportation to eligible students.
* tutoring through the VIA/Literacy Program.
* on-the-job internships through the TOPS Program to eligible students
* additional job training and job placement is available
Employers are looking for candidates with basic skill levels needed to do the job. In their initial screening employers look at certain areas to decide who will get a call for an interview and who does not qualify. Here are some of today's employer expectations.

Any adult (with a High School Diploma or a GED) interested in attaining clerical skills for training or retraining in order to enter or reenter the job market may enroll in the LEC School of Business. Students may be co-enrolled in other Lawrence programs while taking business classes.
There is no cost to eligible students. Others who do not wish the full program may enroll as tuition students for a single class or two. Courses costs vary between $75 - $125.
