We brought a Salad bar to Dubois!
This past March we began fundraising to bring a salad bar to Dubois Elementary. We are pleased to announce that due to the generous donations of several people and organizations - we have met our goal!!!! Thank you for all who donated to our great cause! We plan to start the 2012-13 school year with our new salad bar.
DIBELs Big Picture data
Three times a year, we assess student’s ability to decode and read fluently using
the DIBELs Assessment. In K-1, students do several one-minute reading tasks such as decoding three letter nonsense words. In grades 2-5, students read three passages for one minute and are asked to retell what they have read.
Each time students are assessed, their score is compared to a “benchmark” which is the minimum score we would like each student to achieve at a particular grade level.
Looking at our data, it is exciting to see that teachers have been hard at work helping students grow in their reading knowledge. As a school, we have moved from having 59% of our students at benchmark at the beginning of the year to having 72% of our students currently at benchmark. Now that’s something to celebrate!
